New Record Console!
Our living room is complete with the addition of a beautiful WWII vintage Magnavox record console. My friend, and our roommate, Allie called me this afternoon to tell me about this rare find she happened across in the alley outside her work. She was taking the garbage out and saw it and thought immediately of us. The Radio & Electricity Museum needed more space and they didn't know what else to do with this console so they regretfully (for them) put it in the alley to be hauled away. We drove straight down there and tried it out. It was truly amazing standing in an alley in downtown Bellingham with Neil Young blaring and echoing off the buildings. I think it makes a nice addition to our home and to our collection. Oh yeah, and did I mention it was FREE (I suppose that was
inferred :) ).

Favorite Pickles??
I would like to know what are some of your favorite pickles, or what qualities you like in a good pickle. That way, I can do my best to search for the best recipes and share them with you. I happen to really like pickled okra, with whole mustard seeds. I am particular to pickles with more than the average hot pepper in the mix. Nathanael wants to learn to can, and if anyone else does too, lets plan a time in August or September for a lesson in tomato canning, pickling, drying fruit, and making ketchup. I am also interested in learning to make homemade mustard with smoked pimenton.
we need a new story!
Hi Everyone! I will try to write a new story today, as I think we need one... but if you come up with something interesting, please go for it!! I hope that all of you contact Geoffrey about being a member of superdalgas, because we really want you to. For those of you a little shy, or thinking that we are trying to be exclusive - I want to encourage you to email Geoffrey anyway, and let's see where we go from here. Change is good!

SuperDalgas is Going Private
After many years of having a publicly accessible family website we have decided to switch our site to only private members. What this means is you must be a invited guest in order to view the content. If you'd like to receive an invitation so you can continue to enjoy reading about the happenings of SuperDalgas - please send an email to me: gdalgas@superdalgas.com or post a comment and I will add you to the list.
We want to be sure that all friends and family can get to the site after it's private (yes even you Grammy) - so if you need additional help getting an account to read our blog I will be more than happy to help!

upriver with the bulldozer
Thank you to all of you kids for visiting Granny and Pops!
There were so many things that we did together this weekend, but even more for when you come back to visit again. Like going to the bakery, walking to the library, seeing the animals at Megan's farm, and going upriver to Pinky's ( the original old name seems to have stuck ). It feels like there will be a lot of building projects happening this summer. Our bulldozer arrived all "fixed up". Pops, Ruthie and I went upriver to test it out and to park it for later in the summer. Pops can drive it, although it is loud and jerky, or maybe it is my nervous filming that makes this video seem shaky! Later on in the summer we will do a better job of getting some good movies of actual work happening.
I sure did have fun with those babies!! And Trixie was the best little dog ever! I hope you add more photos to your flickr collection Geoffrey. Mine is rather small. Here is a link to Granny's Photos

Memorial Day
We went to Chelan today to enjoy Memorial day. Neli and Caleb had a great time in the mini pool while we jumped in the Lake.

Gettin' Ready to Go
We're packing our bags and getting ready to go to Granny and Pops house for the weekend. Clothes - CHECK, baby in the bag - DOUBLE CHECK!
I got a real "virtual" job
It's finally official, I'm now associate #00003 for a small but budding startup called stackoverflow.com! You can read about it here CLICK ME!
It's fun working with the guys that are part of this business - and it feels like the work we're doing is actually making a difference in the area of software development.
Hooray for GEEKS!

Spring BarBQ and Mallards!
Sometimes, waiting for a good thing makes it even better. We had waited long enough to go see Nathanael and Jessi in Bellingham. They treated us to two wonderful dinners, and a delicious breakfast. With a little scrubbing and elbow grease we made the basement apartment a little more inviting for Jessi's friend Ally who will soon be living there. (notice the shiny practically mold-free windows behind us? ta da!)
We worked hard enough to think we deserved a little treat at the one ice cream spot deemed worthy of breaking the healthy rules for!
Bellingham is a fun town with fun people and one fabulous and tricky Trixie!

Gnome, the Shoemaker
Look at the wee little shoe with a sweet fleur de lis decoration we found beside the sleeping gnome! I hope he wakes up again tonight to make the other one!

Happy Mothers Day
Happy Pink Mother's Day!
I hope all of the mommies have a sweet sunshiny day today! The young ones are learning goodness from you with every hug, soft touch, new adventure and sharing of simple pleasure.

Today I thank Mother Earth for her magnificent beauty and bounty, and pray that we sharpen our senses to know her better.

Baby Blessings
We had the most wonderful week with the babies ( and the Mommies and Daddies ). Listening to their babble makes one think that there is more going on in their little heads than we can ever imagine, and there is! This is the time of the greatest activity in their brains and opportunity for learning new things. I think I helped Caleb to learn to hold on to a ball, and maybe Amy and I helped Neli to learn a little bit about gardening. Grammy helped both babies to learn to work together on their cars ( walkers ). I think we are most of all learning from them to be happy or sad, but be real. Keep jumping. Get hugs when you need them. Smile, dance, clap and sing a lot.
